20190303 Aish's Sy Santos Water Birth at Shiprah, You can have the kind of the birth you like.

Hello Ms Chiqui, I don’t know if you can remember po, I was the one who planned to give birth in Shiprah, and you said to update you. And so thank God i was able to give birth in Shiphrah, I was 39 weeks and 3 days, this was on February 28, I was the last one to have water birth bec afterwards there was water shortage, it was God’s perfect timing 🙂

We arrived in Shiprah around 2pm, they had us settled in the birthing room, they IE’d me once, around 3pm, they said 4cm palang. So I didn’t sit down na then, it was so painful sitting down din naman kasi. So I was just standing the whole time swaying. Around 4pm Ate Lornie the midwife came in to check baby’s heartbeat, it was good and he was descending. Then at around 530 she came back checked heart beat again it was good and baby is lower na. Around this time I really felt my balakang is splitting into two. I asked helped to change clothes so I can go to the water na 🙂 went to the water around 6pm, and started pushing around 7pm, they didn’t IE me na.
In between one of the contractions I asked the midwife to IE me to see how far along, she said ikaw na Ate 😂 so I did, and I felt a bubble they said that’s the water bag. And in around 2 pushes it went out.

Another interesting part of it was, when I pushed baby’s head was out, in the water 😅 but I didn’t have contractions anymore so I couldn’t push pa. My husband asked the midwife hesitantly uhm the head okay lang ba ganun? Trying to say it subtly bec I might hear him because apparently it was in the water, then the mid wife assured him wag magalala kuya walang problema and then when the next contraction came thank God baby came out na 🙂

The ambilical cord was short around 12 inches? When normally it’s 20 inches daw. baby boy was 7.3 pounds healthy

I had complications after bec coming into this, my hemoglobin count was low, more like 10 when it should be 11. So not that low. A week before the birth, I had my routine check up in Shiprah, midwives said to eat greens ampalaya. I did as much as I can. When I had routine check up with OB she didn’t make a big deal out of it and just said possibility of blood transfusion 😕
Anyway, so when I got out of the water after birth I was so dizzy, from all the blood that came out daw relatively normal. But the next day I was still bleeding they gave me iv with iron, we had to stay another night and I was well na 🙂 wanted to share this part bec ever since the midwives we’re looking at the blood count while the OBs focused on the sugar. The difference was just interesting to me.

Sorry for this lengthy post and a late one 😅 the Lord impressed in my heart to share this my experience with you hoping that it can help one way or another 🙂

Also, the birthing room in shiphrah is a 30 ft sq room with own bathroom. 2 beds.
While i was monitored for my blood count, we were cared for by 2 midwives who was monitoring me round the clock. Even checked to see me at dawn to see if I need to pee na 🙂 we really felt their care, talagang care not just service.

My OB was actually planning to schedule me for a CS saying that the mortality rate of babies beyond 39 weeks has increased and safer to just schedule a CS, we were supoosed to see her to discuss this on March 1. I really prayed and asked God
that if it is in Hus will that baby will be out naturally when he wants to. Also, I didn’t want to lie to our OB come March 1 na I don’t want to see her to come up with reasons just because I don’t want CS. The OB knows we’re Christian bec I found out about her when Joy Mendoza shared her Lamaze story in church around December, she mentioned the OBs name. So we value the fact na she knows we’re Christian and don’t want to lie. God honored my prayer and I gave birth day before which is Feb 28 ☺️ when the secretary asked if we were coming for the appointment on March 1, we just said we gave birth na 🙂

Birth

Congratulations! Btw May I post your story in social media?

20190223 The Learning Hub by Home School Global, Festival mall, Alabang

Went to the opening of The Learning Hub for home schoolers in the south, Alabang area.

When my husband passed away, my 2 youngest children were in Greenhills Christian School in Ortigas. It was a traditional school and advance in their teaching. They had only a few students in class. It was a great school, however it got too costly for me so the following year I decided to put the kids in home school.

After my my son graduated from grade 7, I decided to home school him too. He graduated from an excellent school called, Learning Lab in Quezon City. It was a non-traditional school and the teachers were from U.P. They designed their own programs for the kids who were only very few in class. Maybe 5 to 7 students only. He learned a lot of skills from his wonderful teachers. Too bad the school has closed down.

I had a kind and patient tutor who come to the house daily to teach my 2 youngest. My son was very independent and finished the materials at his own pace with the guidance of his tutor.

We would go regularly to Victory school for the extra curricular activities where the kids interacted with the other home schoolers. We went on excursions together s well.

The Learning Hub offers extra curricular activities and a lot of support to the home schooled kids! Fantastic place to go!

20190220

Dropped the placenta pills we encapsulated. Baby was born one week early because the bag of water already raptured but the cervix did not dilate.  In fear of infection, a CS was performed. Both baby and mommy are fine.

Congratulations to first time Mommy Girlie and Daddy Lou Gerald from Class 294!!!

What a pleasant surprise when I sow Poncho, the son of my good friend Bobby. He is now 30! That long ago. I knew her and her husband. from church They came to my Childbirth Class years ago! I like taking photos of my students and their children when I bump into them. It rings me so much joy that I was once a part of their birth  testimony.

What another pleasant surprise when I met another couple who were also my students in the same event of Home Schoolers in Filinvest,  Muntinglupa They are Bles & Aaron de Guzman. It's the first time I heard of Bles birth story. She was able to give birth naturally free of drugs and anaesthesia! Not just to her first born son but also to her 2 other younger sons! Isn't she amazing? Their first born is Arniel age 22! Wow, that long ago! Arniel is on the right side of the picture.
